Peter and Helen Axton
Peter and Helen Axton chocolate fondue fountain business is based from their home in Sorrento.
In 2003, the Axton's arrived in Perth from the UK and were eager to start their own business. Previously, Peter had worked as a sales and project manager in the construction industry and Helen's experience was in marketing and food service.
Helen had kept an article on a chocolate fountain company from a UK newspaper. They both started researching the purchase of a single fountain. After much research, they realized that the chocolate fountain concept hadn't been tried in Perth.
Finally, in 2004 the Axton's started their company "Chocolate Attraction". The business is targeted at weddings, parties and corporate functions. The company's mission is to save people from boring parties. A chocolate fountain is the perfect ice-breaker since it causes people to charge across the room in order to get to the chocolate. The most popular accompaniments to dip in the chocolate are strawberries and marshmallows, followed by pineapple.
An important part of the business is networking and staying innovative. Over the years, the company has greatly increased the number of fountains. Yet, the Axton's are constantly looking at ways to improve it and still learning about the many opportunities that may still be available to the business.
